In November of 2023, less than two months before Mammy went on to be with Jesus, I received a beautiful gift from her and my own Mama. A precious Bible. It’s all I asked for that year for my 44th, and the comfort of reading my new Bible is priceless. My Mom and Mammy wrote me a note inside the cover, and I will cherish their words forever. The inscribed messages won’t be included in this post, because that’s something special for me only. Jesus knew that I wouldn’t be able to spend anymore birthdays laughing and talking with my sweet Mammy and I will forever be thankful for my Birthday Bible.

I have outlined and bookmarked so many pages over the past year. Mammy is the one who taught me that the more I read His Word and the more my Bible is falling apart, the less likely I will be to fall apart myself.

My Mammy’s Birthday is coming up on March 24, she would have been 85! Even though her body felt it’s 83 years when she passed, her mind was still so young. I know her spirit is living on through all of her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I would give anything to give you a Birthday Bible, Mammy, but I am so joyful to know that you share in the promises that are written in mine.
