The road has been a long one. Sometimes rough, sometimes smooth, I couldn’t have made it Lord without you. You’ve been my anchor, and I know “The Anchor Holds.” Thank you for loving me Lord, even when I know I’ve been unlovable- I don’t know what the future holds, but it doesn’t matter, for I know you are in control. Thank you, Lord, for knowing and seeing my heart. You know me! And I’m so glad I know you. Your child, Ann.

Mammy after feeding her birds

This saying, “The anchor holds” means so much to me. Years ago, when I was going through a rough patch in my first marriage, my Mammy encouraged me and prayed for me, when I was unable to pray myself. I was broken and lost, with no hope. She gave me a little note and wrote on it “Remember Sheree, the Anchor holds” and it brought me back out of my pit of despair. I keep it in my Bible and I know He is my anchor in each storm. There is always somebody praying for you, even if you are so broken that you cannot pray for yourself.

The Anchor Holds

Song by

Ray Boltz

I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea

By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn

I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I’ve had visions
I’ve had dreams
I’ve even held them in my hand

But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn

I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
That these eyes have seen

But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that’s where God proved
His love to me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn

I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

Hebrews 6:19 NIV[19] We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

    Jesus our Anchor ⚓

Again, this is so beautiful! You are doing such a good job of putting her writings together with her pictures. I miss sweet Mama everyday.
